The View

At 11,166 feet, Kircliff offers 360° views across Yellowstone, the Tetons, and some of the most extraordinary terrain in the American West.

Big Sky is not just a ski destination. Kircliff represents the clearest reason yet to visit in summer—the experience is worth every part of the trip to reach it.

The Trip Everyone Comes Home Talking About
Accessible to all ages. No hiking, no gear, no experience required.
The gondola is the fastest of its kind in the world. The tram is iconic. The moment at the top is yours. It is the kind of place where everyone goes quiet for a moment—even the kids.

Far beyond
Big Sky was founded on the belief that where there is clarity of air, there is clarity of thought. This summer, that belief finds its fullest form at the top. Come see what this mountain was always reaching for.

Evening Ascent
From July 3 to September 13, the gondola and tram run additional sunset hours from 5 to 8 PM, Friday-Sunday. The summit at golden hour is a different experience entirely.
Kircliff FAQs
Kircliff is an all-glass viewing platform located above the Lone Peak Tram's top terminal. This indoor space protects you from the elements while you enjoy panoramic views of the peaks season to season. The see-through glass floor lets you look down the fall line of Lone Peak Mountain.
Summer Season: Yes, the Explorer Gondola, Lone Peak Tram, and the Kircliff observatory are all ADA-accessible and ready to welcome wheelchair users. During the summer months, a 517-foot paved path (max slope 4.9%) connects the gondola and the tram, making the high-alpine experience accessible to all.
Winter Season: In winter, the Explorer Gondola is accessible for wheelchair users. Guests can unload at the midstation or top terminal of the gondola to take in the views. However, the connection path between the Explorer Gondola and Lone Peak Tram is snow-covered, which makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs and can be challenging for guests with limited mobility. We recommend reaching out to our guest services team ahead of your winter visit for more detailed information.
When you visit Kircliff, you can explore outside the tram terminal. Walk down to the Titanic Deck to enjoy more 360-degree views!
