Group lessons can be booked as lesson-only or as a bundle that includes the lesson, bike rental, and lift ticket.

Private lessons include the lesson only.
When you book a downhill group lesson, you have the option to include a bike rental. The rental is only for the duration of the lesson. If you wish to use the bike before or after your lesson, visit the Adventure Center to see if a full day upgrade is available.
Big Sky Resort's Different Spoke rents downhill and enduro bikes. We do not currently offer any type of pedal-assisted, gravel, cross-country, or road bikes.
Downhill mountain bikes are not required, but dual-suspension bikes are recommended for the bike park.
Our downhill fleet includes Specialized Demo downhill bikes for riders 5 feet and taller. For the riders under 5 feet tall, we offer a variety of downhill bikes.
A full-face helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads come with bike rentals. You can also rent this gear and chest protectors without renting a bike. These rentals are only available in person - no advance reservations. Gloves, goggles, and shoes are available to buy at Rider's Room.
For downhill mountain biking, prioritize comfort, protection, and breathability. We recommend a full-face helmet, knee and elbow pads, bike gloves, and goggles. Clothing should be loose-fitting, durable, and weather-appropriate. Consider baggy shorts or pants with a padded liner, a wicking shirt, and flat grippy rubber shoes.
