Ikon Pass Friends & Family Tickets

Purchase your discounted lift ticket with your Ikon Pass Friends & Family Ticket voucher. You'll need to log into your Ikon Pass account on the next page to validate your discount. Friends & Family Tickets can only be used on the dates valid for the original Ikon Pass holder—so if their pass has a blackout day, Friends & Family tickets cannot be used. Tickets are valid for full-day access, 9 AM to 4 PM, to all open lifts and terrain at Big Sky Resort, including the Lone Peak Tram and Kircliff glass observatory.

Ikon Pass Friends & Family Tickets FAQ

Share 25% off window rate lift tickets to Big Sky Resort with friends & family! Access and share your discount codes through your Ikon Pass account. Once they've received their code, they can purchase lift tickets in our online store.

Mountain Collective and Ikon Friends and Family tickets cost 25% off the one day window rate. While regular lift tickets offer advance purchase discounts. Friends and Family tickets maintain the same 25% discount regardless of purchase timing. 

Mountain Collective Friends and Family tickets must to be purchased at least 24 hours in advance. 

Ikon Friends and Family tickets can also be purchased in advance online or in-person day of at the ticket windows. The Ikon passholder must be present in person if being purchased at the window. 

All paid winter lift tickets for ages 7 and up, include both scenic and skier/snowboard access on Lone Peak Tram for the day of the lift ticket. This applies to tickets purchased online or at the ticket windows. Lift tickets and passes that include Lone Peak Tram access are:

  • Standard lift tickets
  • Military lift tickets
  • Big Sky Resort Gold passes
  • Boyne Passport passes
  • Boyne Freestyle passes (on ski days)
  • Big Sky Passholder Buddy tickets
  • Ikon Friend and Family tickets
  • Mountain Collective Friend and Family tickets
  • Boyne Sister Resort three free benefit tickets
  • Boyne Sister Resort 50% off benefit tickets
  • Mountain Collective 50% off benefit tickets
  • Unlimited Tram add-on includes winter access only
  • Kircliff scenic lift tickets provide scenic access only

 

The following do not include Lone Peak Tram access and should enable Tram Autocharge to use the tram:

When can I ride the tram in the summer? 

The Friends and Family discounts on the Ikon Base pass has holiday restrictions. This means you cannot use them on blackout dates.  The Ikon pass does not. The Ikon Session does not come with Friends and Family discounts. A passholder may not use their own Friends & Family discounts for additional days.

Ikon Friends and Family discounted tickets can be purchased online. First, the Ikon passholder needs to share the discount.

Ikon passholder sends discount:

  1. Logs into ikonpass.com 
  2. Click your photo and select 'View My Account'. 
  3. On the Overview page, scrolls down to the blue ‘View and Redeem Benefits’ button. 
  4. Find 'Friend and Family Discounts' with a blue circle and plus sign inside. Clicks the plus sign.
  5. A screen will pop up, complete the form: choose the number of discounts or days to share, enter recipient's email (the discount will go here and their account will need to be made with this email), recipient's name, and an optional message. 
  6. Press send.

Friend claims discount: 

  1. Locate discount email from ikonpass.com.
  2. Open the email and scrolls to the blue ‘Claim Discount’ box.
  3. Click ‘Claim Discount’ - which routes you to ikonpass.com
  4. Here log in, if you already have an Ikon pass account, or create an account.
  5. Once logged in, find the ‘Discount Available’ tab on the bottom right side of the screen.

 

The friend can now take this discount to the Ticket Window to purchase in person or continue with the steps below to buy online.

Redeeming discount online:

  1. Continuing from step 5 above, click the 'Discount Available' tab. A screen opens with a blue ‘Redeem Online’ box.
  2. Click this box.  A window of destinations appears. Select 'Big Sky Resort'.
  3. This routes you to Big Sky Resort's online store. You are already logged in with Ikon, so the discounts appear in the middle of the page.
  4. Select your ski date and click ‘Add to Cart’.
  5. Log in to their Big Sky Resort account or create a Big Sky Resort account using the same email address. If under 18, an adult will need to create a Big Sky Resort account first and then add the under-18-year-old person as a group member to their account before checking out.
