Mountain Host Tours & Tips
Get the lay of the land with complimentary Mountain Host tours and helpful information from local volunteers.
The Big Sky Resort Mountain Hosts are a volunteer group of skiers and riders who are passionate about sharing their knowledge of the mountain. Mountain Hosts will share directions, information, recommendations, and, if you're lucky, their favorite spots to ski. Look for the green jackets in the base areas or on the hill!
Big Sky Mountain Hosts lead free orientation tours of the resort every day, weather and ski conditions permitting. Tours usually last about 90 minutes and are designed for intermediate skiers and above. Tours are given on green and blue runs only. Hosts will point out the advanced and expert runs and can answer questions regarding all of the terrain.
Tours meet in the Mountain Village base area to the right of the Swift Current chair, in front of the learning area. Look for Mountain Host volunteers in green jackets. Please arrive five minutes before the tour so participants can be grouped according to skiing ability and terrain interests.

For those looking to push the limits, booking a Tram Guide is the best and safest way to venture into Big Sky’s high-alpine expert terrain.
