The Snow Report

The Snow Report

Good Morning Skiers & Snowboarders, this is Joe Turner with your Big Sky Snow Report for Friday, April 26, 2024.

Its a Powder Weekend and with only 3 days left to go the faucets have been turned on and storm skiing will be on the menu for today. 5" of fresh Montana Cold Snacks came in with a fury this morning and blanketed the resort with 6" of cold smoke in the last 24 hours. It will be a good day to be on the slopes. While the corn skiing has been great we are stoked to rip some more champagne. Quite a bit of terrain has closed due to the recent meltdown in weather but there is still tons of acreage and skiable trails available for you to devour the fluff.

Today's weather calls for low-light lenses and powder boards. 5" overnight with continued snow throughout the day, today is going to be a grand Friday. Snow will be heavy at times this morning before tapering off to snow showers until tomorrow afternoon when intensity picks back up bringing some more deeper snow amounts. Temps will be mild today with a max of 35°F mid-mountain followed by a low of 31°F. Winds will flow from the North/Northeast and range from 8 - 11 mph. Our current base depths at the Lobo station are 39" while 52" still remains higher up.

3 days left and we have powder, powder, powder, come get some before the lifts are done for the season. Finish off strong just like Old Man Winter is trying to do and come slay the day away. Only a few more chances to grab those fat planks, fast friends and a face full of snow. So head on up to Big Sky and remember to be safe, have fun and we hope to see you out on the mountain.

**Please, remember that unmarked obstacles and hazards exist and are prevalent so ski and ride safe. Always ski/ride with a partner and keep your partner in sight at all times. Please honor our SLOW skiing and riding zones to protect yourself and other guests.
