The Snow Report
The Snow Report
Good Morning Skiers & Snowboarders, this is Mario with your Big Sky Snow Report for Thursday March 28, 2024.
Southerly winds have rolled in with force, favoring the South Side of the resort bringing 6" wind drifts overnight to parts of Andesite and Bavaria, with about 2" blanketed resort wide. The flakes are still falling and the winds are going to have transformed the mountain overnight, gusting over 50 mph at the summit. Expect Ski Patrol to have their work cut out for them today as they will likely be working to mitigate old and new snow as it is supposed to snow all day long. By the afternoon Northwest winds should return and winds should die down once again, but we're looking at some storm skiing this morning. Expect the trees all around the resort to catch the most of this blowing snow, get out of bed we've got another pow day in the works!
Today's temperatures are expected to range between 16°F and 34°F with mid mountain temps in the 20's, and winds are expected out of the South, gusting to 40mph. All of this under cloudy snowy skies.
We've gotten over 4 feet of snow across the entire resort in the Month of March with over 2 feet in the last week alone, and we've still got a few days left. The base has been transformed as well as the skiing. Only one month left to free mind and body as you soulfully dance down the mountain and magically ride back up. Conditions are only getting better and we can pray that the best has been saved for last. Ask and it shall be given unto you, so let's ask for and amazing April to finish things off. For now, get out here and enjoy some more Montana storm skiing this morning. As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
**Please, remember that unmarked obstacles and hazards exist and are prevalent so ski and ride safe. Always ski/ride with a partner and keep your partner in sight at all times. Please honor our SLOW skiing and riding zones to protect yourself and other guests.
