Your Stay - Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What is the weather like?

Big Sky provides the perfect combination of quality, reliable snow and clear, sunny days to ensure you have ample opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of our area.  During the winter months, average high temperatures range from 25-40 degrees Fahrenheit, with low temperatures ranging from 7-20 degrees Fahrenheit.  Click here for current conditions.

2.  Will the skiing be too hard?

While Big Sky offers some of the best expert and advanced terrain in the country, we also have an extensive network of beginner and intermediate terrain.  Plus, with over 5,532 skiable acres spread over three mountains, learning to ski or advancing your skills will be more comfortable with all the elbow room we have to offer.

3.  What is the Meadow Village?  Can I get there easily?

Big Sky Resort's ski slopes, base area and lodging options are all located in the Mountain Village.  The Meadow Village is located approx. 10 minutes away and offers additional shopping, restaurants and entertainment.  Free shuttle service is available between the two villages.

4.  Should I rent skis or bring my own?

You may check your skis with your airline (fees vary) or ship them to Big Sky in advance ($15 per bag with a cap of $45.00 for up to 8 bags) but many of our guests will agree that the most convenient option is to rent skis from our rental shop here at the base of the slopes.  Take advantage of our multi-day discounts and perfect fit guarantee on the latest ski technology with our brand new rental fleet for the 2012/13 ski season. Click here for more information.

5.  Will there be enough to do?

Big Sky offers a variety of activities for the whole family.  The kids will love the hands-on instruction provided in our fun group ski lessons, and will look forward to the end of the day when time for Kids Club rolls around.  Take a day off from the slopes to rest all of your legs and try our Zipline Tour, Giant Swing and Tube Park.  Mom and Dad can enjoy some rest & relaxation courtesy of Solace Spa & Salon, followed by a romantic dinner at Andiamo Italian Grille.  Our concierge will be happy to arrange a trip itinerary for you for all of the above, including a tour of Yellowstone National Park.
