Sunset Saturdays Extend the Ski Day at Big Sky

2/27/12

BIG SKY, Mont. — Everyone agrees the toughest part of a ski day at Big Sky is when it ends.  With increasing hours of daylight, Big Sky Resort is easing end-of-the-day woes with a bonus hour of skiing and riding every Saturday from March 10th until the end of the season, when Ramcharger chairlift will run until 5:00pm.

Lift ticket pricing will remain the same, and Saturday lift tickets or season passes will include the extra value of skiing and snowboarding big, wide, blue cruisers, and front-side glades on Andesite Mountain for an extra hour.

“Spring skiing at Big Sky is truly phenomenal – with warmer temperatures, great snow, and bluebird days, skiers never want to leave the slopes,” said Chad Jones, Big Sky Resort Public Relations Manager.  “Sunset Saturdays are a great way to celebrate great spring conditions and take advantage of longer daylight hours.  You can really get the most out of your ski day.”

With the extended ski day, families can also take advantage of activities in the Mountain Village like the bungee trampoline and outdoor laser tag.  Each Saturday this spring will also feature après ski music such as the famous Crazy Austrian show in Chet’s Bar and Grill and special late shows by favorites like Milton Menasco and the Big Fiasco.  The fun doesn’t stop until after April 14th, when Big Sky will celebrate the last Saturday of the season with the extended Ramcharger hours and the annual Pond Skim.
