Big Sky Resort Kicks-Off the 2012/13 Ski Season11/22/12
BIG SKY, Mont. — Big Sky Resort kicked-off the 2012-2013 ski season today with hundreds of skiers riding two open lifts and 12 features in Swifty 2.0 terrain park. At 9:00am sharp skiers began loading onto the Explorer and Swift Current lifts as well as the three Magic Carpets to access 60+ acres of terrain.
“We’re excited to get the season started on Thanksgiving Day,” said Meg O’Leary, Big Sky’s Sales and Marketing Director. “We all live here because we love to ski, and our mountain operations team has been working really hard to get things rolling so we can kick off another amazing season.”
The Triple and Challenger lifts are all ready to turn as soon as more natural snow falls.
“We’re committed to getting as much terrain open as fast and safely as we can,” said O’Leary. “As long as the snow keeps falling, we’re going to get more and more lifts turning.”
Lift tickets for opening day are $36, with $5 off for Frequent Sky Card Holders. Frequent Sky Card Holders will ski for free from November 26th-December 2nd and $20 Day on Friday, November 30th will offer $20 lift tickets for all skiers and riders.
Early-season services currently open include the Snowsports School, Big Sky Rental Shop, Guest Services and Mountain Mall businesses. All hotels and other businesses in the Mountain Village will open December 6th.
