Epic Pass Holders Take Big Sky Up on Free Skiing
2/06/12BIG SKY, Mont. — Dozens of Epic Pass holders took up Big Sky Resort’s offer of free skiing last month when Colorado and California ski resorts were widely lacking snow.
Big Sky Resort honored Vail Resorts’ Epic Passes throughout January, allowing holders to ski free for the duration of their stay when they booked lodging with Big Sky Central Reservations.
“Big Sky had about twice the open acreage that Vail and Breckenridge did in January, and we also had great powder,” said Chad Jones, Big Sky Resort Public Relations Manager. “We decided to share the wealth.”
Skiers and riders were happy to take advantage of the deal. “We generated about 50 reservations and successfully spread the message that we’ve had a good snow year, even while others were struggling with poor conditions,” said Jones. “Big Sky is known for consistently having good snow throughout the season, with an average of 400 inches annually.”
The home of the Biggest Skiing in America, Big Sky Resort currently has 100% terrain open and 100% of lifts running, and has had steady snowfall throughout the season including several big powder days.
