CR.eations Yarn Shop Makes New Home at Big Sky Resort
11/10/11BIG SKY, Mont. — Big Sky Resort is excited to welcome CR.eations yarn shop and fiber center to the Mountain Village. With her flagship location in Ennis, Christine Rodgers will open her second location in Big Sky’s Village Center this winter, offering hand spun and specialty yarns as well as spinning and knitting lessons.
“This shop fits perfectly into our mountain village,” said Meg O’Leary, Big Sky Director of Sales and Marketing. “It’s that cozy atmosphere you crave after a long day on the slopes – gathering together to learn how to make the hats and scarves that keep you warm in our wintery weather.”
“My chunky yarns lend themselves wonderfully to a ski resort because they are quick knits and you could make a hat in one evening,” said Rodgers. Her shop will carry yarns hand-spun in Montana, including chunky yarns and novelty yarns, as well as hand-knit items such as hats, scarves, and sweaters. “I’m knitting up a storm!,” she said, adding that she will take custom orders as well as sell her original designs.
Rodgers will also have a spinning wheel and a drop spindle available for people to try their hand at spinning their own yarn during informal lessons throughout the day. Each afternoon Rodgers will hold a free après ski knitting clinic for anyone who wants to learn knitting basics or get instruction on how to create specialty items.
CR.eations will be open seven days a week from 9am-6pm starting November 24th, Big Sky Resort’s opening day of ski season. For more information on Big Sky Resort’s Mountain Village visit bigskyresort.com.
