Big Sky Resort Hosts KLIM Big Sky XC Motorcycle Races7/25/11
July 25, 2011 – Big Sky Resort is excited to host the 3rd annual KLIM Big Sky XC August 27-28, 2011. Defined by its challenging alpine courses, dramatic views, and proximity to resort amenities, the 2011 Big Sky XC will include an improved 50cc course, a separate 65cc / 85cc JR course, and an alternate delay route around the Black Diamond’s rock garden section.
Five unique courses have been designed to ensure racers of all levels will enjoy their experience in Big Sky. The slope-side endurocross section, included in the Blue Square (intermediate) and Black Diamond (expert/pro) courses will once again be a highlight. As the final round of the AMA West Hare Scramble Championship Series, 21 of 27 class point battles are still undecided.
Spectators can enjoy the racing action from the Mountain Village base-area. In between watching races, spectators can enjoy Big Sky Resort’s activities such as the golfing on the 18-hole Arnold Palmer designed course, ziplining, downhill mountain biking, and many other adventure activities.
“This is a family experience,” explains race promoter Jamey Kabisch, “our hope is that race-centric families who invest time and effort into traveling to our event will walk away with more than just a trophy. We want the trip to be a highlight of their summer.”
Big Sky Resort offers a range of lodging and dining options and is located 18-miles from Yellowstone National Park and nine miles from blue ribbon trout fishing on the Gallatin River. Motorcycle themed movies will be playing in the evenings at the resort’s amphitheater, live music is scheduled at various local establishments, and a youth/novice awards banquet is set for Saturday night August 27th.
