New 1500-foot Twin Zipline to Open at Big Sky Resort
11/03/10BIG SKY, Mont. —Big Sky resort is excited to announce the opening of a fourth and a fifth zipline for the 2010-2011 winter season. The new lines will be in the form of a Twin Zip, meaning two people can zip next to each other simultaneously. The Twin Zipline, which will be separate from of the current zipline course, will be approximately 1,500 feet long, more than 3 times the length of Big Sky’s current longest zipline, and will run all the way from Chet’s Knob to Tippy’s Tumble, passing directly over the base area.
“Big Sky’s Zipline has been tremendously popular ever since we opened it in 2009,” said Christine Baker, Big Sky Resort’s Basecamp Programs and Snowsports Children's Program Manager. “This new Twin Zip is longer and cooler than ever, and I think people are going to love it. It really ups the adventure factor of our Basecamp activities.”
Other winter Basecamp activities set for this winter include Lunar Zipline Trips, tubing in the Tube Park, Bungee Trampoline and Climbing Wall challenges, Guided Snowshoe Tours, Snowcat Rides, and High Ropes Course challenges.
The Twin Zip will open on November 25th, 2010, on Thanksgiving Day. Other winter Basecamp activities will open at different times throughout the season.
“I’ve tried all of Big Sky’s Basecamp adventures, and they’re all a blast,” said Baker. “It makes you realize there is a ton of fun to be had on the mountain, even if you don’t ski. I’m especially excited for the new Twin Zip not only because it will be a little more extreme, but also because it adds yet another dimension to Basecamp and the mountain in general.”
Big Sky Resort offers the longest season in the area, the Lone Peak Tram, and quality terrain, lifts, and grooming. Please join in the excitement and come play at Big Sky this winter season.
