New Daily Non-Stops from San Francisco and Los Angeles Announced6/09/10
BIG SKY, MT. – Travelers from California to Montana will find added convenience with the announcement that United Airlines will provide daily non-stop service from Los Angeles and San Francisco for the 2010 summer season. The flights will arrive at the Gallatin Field Airport around noon, allowing plenty of time for fisherman and conference goers to enjoy their day and make it to Big Sky for evening activities or a delicious dinner.
Gallatin Field Airport will become the only airport in Montana with daily non-stop service to San Francisco and Los Angeles. The Bozeman-San Francisco and Bozeman-Los Angeles service is conveniently timed to connect with United flights to and from cities throughout the western United States. United operates more than 235 flights a day linking San Francisco International Airport and LAX with cities throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, Australia, Europe and Mexico.
Seasonal weekend service to San Francisco has been very popular with customers and its success was instrumental in United’s decision to implement daily service. This announcement culminates an effort by the Big Sky area to expand service to California and will benefit all of Southwest Montana. The agreement for the summer will provide daily round trip flights through August 23, 2010 for LAX and November 3, 2010 for SFO with the winter schedule set to start again before the Christmas Holidays.
Big Sky Resort works with partners in the community to help shoulder the potential costs of airline guarantees. This model has been successful in recent years with Big Sky attracting flights from Atlanta, Chicago and Seattle.
