Big Sky Announces Montana Educators Appreciation Weekend

BIG SKY, Mont. —Big Sky will host the Second Annual Educator Appreciation Weekend December 11-13, 2009.  All employees working in the education field at any level, with proof of employment will receive free skiing when taking advantage of $125 Huntley Lodging specials. Lodging specials are valid December 11 and 12 and free skiing will be offered both Saturday and Sunday for educators staying with Big Sky Resort Central Reservations.  Half price skiing will be offered for their immediate families that are staying with Big Sky Resort as well.

“These folks do so much for us, we’re proud to be in a position to help educators enjoy a weekend of skiing and riding on the Resort,” said Meg O’Leary, director of sales and marketing.  “This is just Big Sky’s way of saying ‘thanks’ to all the men and women who teach and work in the education field.”

The event is open to all eligible educators with an identification card or proof of work.  Educators will be able to simply present their ID or pay stub to ticket sales, with their room portfolio and collect their free lift tickets. Educators not staying with Big Sky Resort will receive a discounted ticket rate. Spouses and family members who stay at the resort will qualify for half price lift tickets. As always, children 10 and under ski for free at Big Sky Resort.

Educators and their families will receive 25% off ski school group lessons by presenting their ID’s at the Snowsports School on the second level of the Snowcrest Lodge. For members who want to explore the mountain on the newest equipment, Big Sky Ski Rental located on the first floor of the Snowcrest Lodge will offer 50% discounts on skis, boots and poles packages. 

Those interested in reserving accommodations in the slopeside Huntley Lodge can call Big Sky Central Reservations and mention the discount and present their ID at the front desk upon checking in.  The Huntley Lodge discount of $125 is for double occupancy and includes a free daily breakfast buffet.   Each additional person is $25 per person per night.  The toll free number for Reservations is 1-800-548-4486.
