Expanded Rental Services at Big Sky Resort
1/02/09BIG SKY, Mont. — Big Sky Resort has changed the official set up names of its rental shops in an effort to improve the services offered to guests. The facilities in the Snowcrest Lodge have been updated to more clearly communicate the options available.
Big Sky Resort Rentals is still located in the back of the Snowcrest building and provides both Standard and High Performance Rentals. The Standard package features over 1,000 sets of brand new Head rentals; packages include skis, boots and poles. Head’s innovative BYS system is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes to fit boots and skis, helping to make renting gear as quick as possible and allowing guests more time on the slopes. For the more advanced skier, Big Sky Resort Rentals offers High Performance packages with Salomon X Wing 10s. Ice Skates and Snowshoes are also available to rent.
Big Sky Resort Snowboard Rentals has moved to the front of the Snowcrest building, where the Logo Shop used to be located. Snowboard rentals include state-of-the-art clicker bindings. A large variety of logo gear can now be found at Outfitters in the Huntley/Shoshone lobby.
For those looking for the highest quality of ski equipment, the Performance Demo Center features a large variety of brand new gear for this season. Located to the right on entering the Snowcrest building, skis may be chosen whilst relaxing on the sofas with a hot cup of tea or coffee. Other guest conveniences such as complimentary shoe storage help take the hassle out of renting equipment.
“Customer Service is our number one priority,” said Dylan Hall, Big Sky Resort Retail Manager. “We aim to provide the best package for each guest, whilst making the experience as enjoyable as possible for them.”
The Performance Demo Center’s stock is more performance oriented; a choice of four different types of boots is on offer as well as a whole range of skis, including names such as Volkl, K2 and Nordica. The advantage of renting demo skis is that guests do not have to stick to only one type of ski; these can be switched out as often as wanted, whether to something specifically for that great powder day or just to try a variety of different brands.
Another great thing about the Performance Demo Center is that the equipment can be used to ‘try before you buy’. Almost all of the skis available to demo are stocked in Big Sky Sports and two days credit from demo rentals can be applied to the price of any skis purchased there.
An additional enhancement to Big Sky Resort Rentals is that the tuning facilities have been expanded to improve the quality of the Resort’s rental equipment. All rentals, including Junior skis, will be sharpened and waxed every night to ensure that each individual guest has the best rental experience possible. For guests using their own skis or snowboards on the slopes, Big Sky Repair Shop, located downstairs in the Mountain Mall, offers a full tuning service.
“Our rental shops offer the best location, the best equipment, and the best service in Big Sky,” said Taylor Middleton, General Manager of Big Sky Resort. All of these improvements have been carried out with the aim of addressing guests’ needs by providing a greater variety of base area services which are quick, convenient and of the highest quality.
