A new and improved Family Fun Zone will offer tubing and terrain features in the base area, Big Sky will spring forward with the time change to offer Sunset Saturdays with an extra hour of operations and new women and telemark camps are being introduced by Big Sky Snowsports School.
Family Fun Zone Lights Up the Base Area
The Family Fun Zone located near the Mountain Village plaza will offer teens and adults a thrilling activity once the lifts stop spinning. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the Family Fun Zone is home to an improved tube park serviced by the 500 foot long Adrian’s Way carpet lift. New this season, a small terrain park with boxes, rails and kickers will entertain riders under the lights in the zone. Tickets are $10 for those ages 10 and under and $15 for those 11 and older.
Days Get Longer and Lifts Run Longer on Sunset Saturdays
Beginning on March 14, the week after Big Sky Country “springs forward” Sunset Saturdays will begin. Sunset Saturdays will extend the hours of operation until 5pm, taking advantage of the extra hour of daylight. A party with live music in the plaza will launch the event.
“March has excellent snow conditions so we decided to kick it up a notch and let guests take advantage of the sunshine.” said Dax Schieffer, Big Sky’s director of public relations. “Why not throw a party and let the people ride an extra hour and soak up the sun.”
Big Sky will operate the Ramcharger lift for the additional hour and will keep the terrain on the front side of Andesite open for the extension. This additional bonus will be valid to all season passholders and day ticket holders for those days.
