Sno-Ball Takes the Party to the Snow

1/03/08

BIG SKY, Mont. - Ice, snow and good times come together once again this year for Big Sky Resort's annual Sno-Ball. Bringing back the ever-popular day of children's activities and after hours Sno-bar, the Sno-ball will be Saturday, January 12 with a follow-up party set for Saturday January 19.

From noon to 4 p.m., on the first Saturday, there will be several family activities on the plaza in the base area at Big Sky Resort.   A local DJ will be spinning tunes throughout the afternoon for all to enjoy.

Artists and chefs will demonstrate their skills as they carve and shape ice into sculptures for display. A children's inflatable bouncer room will be set-up for youthful amusement, along with a children's snow play area, where kids can paint the snow and build snow sculptures.  Ice-skating is available in the base area, adjacent to the Summit Hotel with free ice skate rentals from Big Sky Rental located in the Snowcrest Lodge. All of the daytime events are free to the public.

After the lifts close, the event will move up the hill for a 21 and over crowd. Big Sky's Terrain Park Crew will build a Sno-bar from snow and natural materials and then decorate it to glow and light up in the night.

The Sno-bar will be built between the Swift Current lift and the gondola. With walls, the bar, and a large dance floor built from snow and ice, the event is sure to bring viewers, dancers and those just looking for a good time. From 6 p.m.- 8 p.m., a local DJ will be spinning tunes, concluding with Big Sky's firework display lighting up the sky above.

The Sno-bar will have a cover of $5, with glowing/light-up prizes handed out at the door. The bar will be serving a mix of drinks throughout the evening, and will host an additional Sno-ball the following Saturday, January 19. The party will be held in the same structure as the previous week, in the base area.
