Shoshone Receives Upgrades

The slope-side Shoshone will undergo renovations and transformations this season inspired by the Shoshone Indian Tribe. The seven-story landmark attached to the Yellowstone Conference Center and the Huntley Hotel is to receive numerous upgrades to its 94 condominiums.

 “The Shoshone is undergoing an identity change and a remodel to further strengthen the brand with our area, said Barb Starz, Regional Vice President of Lodging and Spa.  “We’ve worked with an ambitious and dedicated group of owners and the Boyne Design Group to create the vision for this new identity.”

 The remodel and design includes a focus on the family and inspiration from the Shoshone Indian Tribe. The Shoshone Indians lived in Montana, Wyoming and Utah and were hunters and fishers of the numerous game in this area. 

 Each unit will gain a new leather couch in the living room, along with new lampshades and artwork on the walls. Additional lighting, in the form of a chandelier over the dining table, will enhance these touches even further.

 Another feature of the identity package is adding amenities for children. This could include the addition of Shoshone tribe crafts at Kid’s Club this season, building upon the décor of the building for the many families who return to the Shoshone each year.

 Another important element of these upgrades, which guests will certainly appreciate on those cold winter nights, is the new television sets in each unit. These are all brand new 32” flat screen televisions with built in DVD player hook-ups, a further improvement on the 27” sets introduced in 2002.

 The Shoshone will also be implementing a new Entergize heating control system. This system is designed to reduce guest room energy usage by 25%-45%, helping to both reduce costs and the energy usage of the Resort as a whole.

 The Shoshone Condominium Hotel contains 79 standard one-bedroom suites with private bedrooms, 1 ¾ baths, a Murphy bed and sofa sleeper, in addition to 15 loft condominiums with a private bedroom, queen bed in a loft, a sofa sleeper and 2 ¾ baths.  All of the units contain full kitchens, fireplaces and balconies with irresistible views.
