12/12/08On Monday December 15, the Pinnacle Restaurant will be opening at the top of Andesite for you on mountian food and beverage needs.  Big Sky Resort has opened more terrain this week, dropping the ropes on over 940 acres serviced by eight lifts.  The first weeks of December brought over two feet of snow and with ideal snowmaking conditions and low temperatures to assist with getting more terrain open 

Big Sky is offering skiing for all levels from beginner to expert with black diamond skiing from the Challenger Chair and the Lone Peak Triple.

"We had nearly 1,500 skiers on Friday enjoying the early season opportunity to get turns in", said Dax Schieffer, Public Relations Director of Big Sky.  "With more snow in the forecast, we're excited that we've got something for everyone this early in the year."

Big Sky was pounded with another foot deep storm starting Sunday evening, Challenger and Bowl are skiing mid-winter conditions with face shots and silky light powder conditions. Snow safety and ski patrol worked long hours doing avalanche control work to open more terrain. Big Sky Resort is in full swing with all hotels and properties open.  Also snowsports school, rental, restaurants and retail shops are serving guests visiting the Big Sky Mountain Village.
