Moonalice and Melvin Seals and the JGB Return

On August 30 and 31 the JGB featuring Melvin Seals will be returning to Big Sky Resort to headline two days of great music.  The band will be joined by Moonalice, Bozeman’s own Hooligans and will feature a special performance on Saturday by Montana Rose free on the plaza at noon.

 On Saturday the 30, music will accompany the Mountain Fest activities that Big Sky locals have become accustomed to. With a sidewalk sale featuring local businesses, kid’s activities, inflatables from Airtime Inflatables, a 5 k race,  great food and beverages and more its sure to be a fun-filled day.

 The main event will begin at 6:30 p.m., as Hooligans, Bozeman's longest running roots rock band takes the stage.  They’ll mix it up with Americana, blues and reggae, covering songs by artists such as The Grateful Dead, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bob Marley and many others. They will be followed by Moonalice and then headliners JGB featuring Melvin Seals take the stage.  Tickets for the main event are $25 in advance and $28 at the gate.  The show will be outside on the Plaza Stage.

 Sunday the fun will continue with more food and drinks and encore performances by the Hooligans, Moonalice, and JGB featuring Melvin Seals.  The music will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.  Tickets for the Sunday show are $25 in advance $28 at the gate. Save some money and get a two-day festival ticket for $40 in advance.

 Moonalice is an all-star super-group unites seven legendary musicians on one stage and includes G.E. Smith of the Saturday Night Live Band, Pete Sears of Jefferson Airplane/Starship and Hot Tuna.  Barry Sless of Phil Lesh and Friends and many others come together to rock, roll and make the crowd dance. Don’t miss a chance to see and listen to history, Moonalice will not disappoint.

 JGB featuring Melvin Seals have been keeping the flame alive in the spirit of Jerry Garcia since Jerry’s death. With Stu Allen on guitar, Judith Coleman and Mary Holland singing melodies Melvin has managed to keep the magic going with hauntingly beautiful renditions of your favorite Jerry Garcia Band classics.
