Big Sky Resort Opens for Summer

BIG SKY, Mont. - The Mountain Village has sprung to life with the opening of Big Sky Resort this week including the Huntley Lodge, Shoshone Condominiums, The Summit Hotel and the Yellowstone Conference Center.

The Arnold Palmer designed, 18-hole golf course has been open for several weeks, including the full service pro shop and professional instruction.

The mountain is open for hiking and scenic lift rides. The scenic lift will operate seven days a week from 9:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Prices for the scenic lift are $18 for a single ride and $29 for an unlimited day ticket. Children 10 and under can ride the scenic lift for free with a paying adult while juniors? one time lift tickets are $11 and seniors are $12.

Kitchens in the Mountain Village have fired up with the Carabiner opening in the Summit, Chet?s Bar for breakfast and dinners, as well as the popular Mountain Mall restaurants including Whiskey Jack's and M.R. Hummers. The Bambu will open June 19 with many themed evening parties.

Big Sky Sports, in the Mountain Mall, offers full bike rental service and will sell scenic lift tickets. Full suspension Rocky Mountain bikes are available for rent. Helmets are required and are included with bike rental. A free water bottle is included with mountain bike rentals of two hours or more. Mountain biking on the mountain will be delayed until the snow clears on the upper part of the mountain.

New this season, Big Sky offers a Summer Family Fun pass that is available both for a day or the season that provides a scenic lift ticket and Huntley Lodge Pool access. Tickets for the Summer Family Fun day tickets can be purchased at Big Sky Sports during store hours. Tickets are $30 for adults 18 and above, $20 for ages 11-17 and $5 for children 10 and under.

Mountain Village retail shops are now open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. including JP Woolies, Plum Logo, Painted Pony, C & P, Moose Drop Fudge and Paparazzi Boutique. Provisions in the Summit Hotel and Outfitters in Shoshone are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
