The Front Desk Attendant

  • Represents the hotel and resort to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay.
  • Handles check-ins and check-outs in a quick, professional and informative manner.
  • Helps complete registration cards and directs them to their room or condominium, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, check cashing, cash handling policies and procedures, and daily audit tasks.
  • Manages a daily bank, ensuring that all accounting procedures are properly handled.
  • Answer the switchboard and answers questions in a informative manner. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place at the resort.
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Files room keys and registration cards, posts charges to guest’s rooms. Works closely with the housekeeping department, as well as other departments in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintains guest room key storage and maintains access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Registers hotel guests, providing information to guests, room sales, activity sales, cashiering, preparing reports, and related front office functions. High public contact and long periods of standing

  4. Knows the location and types of rooms as well as the activities and services of the resort.
  5. Knows all safety and emergency procedures, aware of accident prevention policies.
  6. CPR and First Aid Certification is preferred.
  7. Handles guests concerns and complaints as effectively as possible.
