Housing

Big Sky Resort offers employee housing on a space-available basis. There are two options during our winter season and one during the summer. A damage deposit is required before you can move into housing. Please send your deposit in advance with your signed employment agreement and reservation form to reserve a spot in housing. Please scroll down to view independant housing options.

Please Do NOT send your housing deposit until you have been offered a position with us.

Housing Check-In

For employees with reservations, housing check-in is only available Mon. - Fri. between 10 am and 4 pm at the Mountain Lodge. Please do not show up expecting a spot in housing without a reservation.

Mountain Lodge

The Mountain Lodge is a very "rustic" dorm-style three-story structure housing 70 small rooms. The Mountain Lodge is an old building-originally built in 1973 as an inexpensive hostel for skiers. Each room has an external entrance (exposed to outside weather), sink, mirror, a small bathroom (toilet and shower), and bunk beds. Wireless Internet is provided in some rooms. There are no phone connections. The rent for these units is $7.50 per day per employee.  A deposit of $150 is required to reserve a space and will be converted to your damage deposit upon check in. Rent is payroll deducted every pay period.

Golden Eagle Lodge

The Golden Eagle Lodge is located near the Community Park on Little Coyote Road in the Meadow Village, about 9 miles from the slopes. Each room has an external entrance (exposed to outside weather), sink, mirror, a small bathroom (toilet and shower), and bunk beds. Some, but not all, have kitchenettes with a small fridge and a burner for cooking. The Skyline Bus provides free transportation to the resort. Wireless Internet is provided in some rooms. There are no phone connections. A $150 deposit is required to reserve a space and will be converted to your damage deposit upon check in. The rent for these units is $7.50 a day per employee. Rent is payroll deducted every pay period. The Golden Eagle is only available during the winter.

Whitewater Inn

The Whitewater Inn is located near the Gallatin River in the canyon approximately 10 miles from the Resort. It is located on the Skyline Bus route, which provides free transportation to the resort. Guests occupy hotel rooms next to employees, so the highest standard of conduct will be expected at all times. The rooms with regular beds, TV's, wireless internet, phone connections, sink, mirror, and a small bathroom. Some, but not all have mini fridges and microwaves. Employees are permitted to use the pool and work if they purchase a pass. The only employees permitted to purchase these passes and use the pool are the employees living in the hotel. A $300 deposit is required to reserve a space and will be converted to your damage deposit upon check in. The nightly fee for these units is $12 a day per employee. At least two employees share a room. An additional roommate may be issued by request for a discounted daily rent price of $7.50. Rental fees are payroll deducted every pay period. The Whitewater Inn is only available during the winter.

Housing Requests

Requests for location choice and roommates will be taken by the HR department, however, accommodations in Employee Housing are on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you do not get your first choice for housing, you will be put on a waiting list for the next available space.

Housing Amenities

You must provide your own bedding and towels. You will not be able to purchase bedding in the Big Sky area, so make sure you bring bedding with you or stop in Bozeman before checking into housing. There are no kitchen facilities in employee housing. You may wish to bring a small refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, television, VCR, video games etc. There are pay phones and laundry facilities located on all premises. The community of Big Sky also has low cost government subsidized housing that may be available through Alliance Property Management called Big Sky Apartments. You must fill out a housing application to be considered for this housing. Generally there is a long waiting list to get in. You can obtain an application from Alliance Property Management at 406.585.0880.
